Idaho Trip Part Two

One of the reasons we made the trip to Idaho was to have a little friend reunion  SO FUN!

Some of Dave's friends from high school (to me, college friends) got together with their families to play for the weekend.  The first picture is me running Claire along the zip-line, which was a huge hit.  Claire didn't go on it again, plus it was really not fun to run her along the line being that pregnant!  However, all the other kids LOVED it!!

 Edgar and Dave, together again at last.  Edgar was our best man, and we'd missed him and his family (and all of our other amazing friends that were there) terribly.  

The ranch had it's own private playground!  Genius.

We did a lot of eating . . . 

There was a HUGE slide, too, but most of the kids were still a bit too young to go on it. 

Notice how dirty Claire is??  Yep.  She found another dirt hole right as we were getting ready to climb in the van and leave.  

The pictures of the views we saw while on this trip just don't do it justice at all.  Idaho is so so beautiful.  The area around the ranch was no exception.

Hannah, Edgar's oldest, and Jane were quite good buddies.  I just loved seeing all the kids play together.

It was fun for the big kids to play together, too!  :)

We met up later (after leaving the ranch) at Jill's house to see Jared--the buddy who had to come up late.

We're always trying to get a good picture of the Tetons.  On the other side of Jackson Hole we finally caught some great views of them.  They were breath-taking.  

The crew.  This road trip was actually really great.  These kids were real troopers.  That big black box?  Full of treats and treasures that were distributed at intervals the entire trip.  I think that was the secret to the success.

Trip to Idaho Part One

Hello, Idaho!  We sure did miss you!

This place is not Idaho.  It might be the moon.

We had a Hunt-Groll reunion at the park, complete with swimming at the splash park.  

There's something special about Rexburg.  This park was full of college kids doing many un-college-kid things like flying kites, picnicing innocently, and swinging on swings.  Such wholesome youth.  This might be interpreted as "immature" behavior, but I couldn't help but think that water-balloon toss game looked pretty fun.  

Claire explored everywhere anyone would let her while we were at Nana and Oompa's house.  She also explored a dirt hole and had to take a bath . . . 

This is Jane and Claire building a "nest."  It's got lots of big eggs in it.

Hatching her eggs.  Funny kid.  Let me take a moment to tell you how much I love Idaho lawns.  They're lush, they're bug-free, they're perfect for playing on.

Not many pictures of the 4th of July, but we did go to the parade.
