The verdict is . . .

Jane's legs are just fine. The doctor said that since her x-rays came back with no indication of disease or deficiency that she has about a 95% chance of just growing out of it in the next few months when she starts getting taller. So . . . that's good! She'll just keep her cute waddle for a while longer. And silly as it sounds, I'm glad. :)

Jane's legs

We finally took Jane in to the doctor to get her legs checked out (and to get some shots). She does have major curvature of her leg bones and really band pigeon toes (or however you say that, but you know what I mean). We took x-rays on Friday after the doctor visit and we have an appointment with the orthopedic doc on Thursday when we'll get a verdict as to what to do about this little girl.

Eureka!

I have been trying for weeks to figure out how to get Audrey to stop wearing her shoes to bed. The girl LOVES shoes!!! And even when we don't let her go to bed in them, she sneaks out and gets them after we've gone to bed. Seriously, it was nuts. BUT now that we've invented "SOCK BOOTS" there have been no more shoes in bed. We just put Dave's socks on her . . . and call them boots . . . so they're like shoes . . . see?

Pilates

Today it was particularly hard to get a workout in. I mean, it's hard enough just to do it, but when the girls aren't distracted with other things or being watched by someone else, it's pretty much impossible.

I prefer to just run on the treadmill with my ipod blasting, but that just leads to me getting done and finding that someone is injured and my house is a mess . . . because I couldn't hear anything, of course.

After 3 HOURS of trying to get my stupid 30 minute workout done and over with, I just decided to dig out an old pilates tape and get Audrey excited to try it.
The workout was a success, if you don't count trying to do those crazy leg things with Jane sitting on my stomach and Audrey freaking out half way through because she didn't know we were already starting on the next exercise . . . she really liked the rolling-like-a-ball one. :)
Note to self: Work out before the kids wake-up or when Josie or David can watch them.

Bracelets

Some of Jane's favorite things are purses, necklaces, and bracelets.

She ALWAYS has hair bands on her wrists.

She finds them all over the place and just keeps putting them on.

Anything that could possibly be a bracelet, she loves to have it on.

In fact, she just had ex-rays done for her legs and feet (more on that later), and at the hospital they put the little wrist band on her. She'd been hysterical the second before, but as soon as the lady mentioned a bracelet, she was silent and held out her wrist.

I slipped the wrist band off when we got home, and I thought I'd thrown it away, but she keeps finding it and wearing it around. It's been about 3 days now, and she finds it and wears it every day. :)

She also really loved getting her picture taken.

When she knows she's getting attention for being cute . . .

. . . she starts tilting . . .

funny girl.

Little Girls

Pie

These pictures aren't all the same.
I really like to keep sequence pictures.

Maybe it's because I really don't like video taping things.

Because you can't flip through someone's videos quietly while you wait for dinner to start.

I like these pictures in particular because it really shows how expressive Jane is.

The girls and I went up to the cabin this past Saturday to hang out with David's family.

We played on the lake and ate yummy food and had tons of fun.

Audrey LOVED riding on the boat, as usual, and she even tried riding the big tube with me and Aunt Jordi. She really had a blast. It was so so fun to see her get so excited.

And Jane just loved all that yummy food and attention.

Oompa called her over for some pie. As soon as she saw that pie . . .

. . . she ran as fast as she could, backed herself right down on the step beside him . . .

. . . and proceeded to eat all of his pie . . .

And between each bite, she'd give us all a little show.

Meaning she'd show off and be really really cute.

Just Cuz

I've been trying really hard to get Audrey to stop chewing her nails to a stub. She even chews her toe nails. Gross. SO, I used the old you-have-to-stop-chewing-so-you-can-be-pretty line on her. It seemed to work pretty well.
I don't know why it hasn't occured to me before to paint her nails. When the thought came to me, I was like "geez, of course she'd love that! And I'll finally get to push those cuticles of hers back to the bottom of her fingernail like they belong . . ."

She was a very good sport. So was Jane!

We did fingers AND toes, of course.

In bright pink red.

There was a lot of intense concentration.

You have to fan them dry.

Then you have to admire them.

Then you have to let everyone else admire them.

You have to make sure they're good and dry.

And admire them some more.

And just love being a new woman.

I mean, really LOVE it.

Tiny toes . . .

Tiny fingers . . . .
SO cute. SO fun. :)
