Jane is always very concerned about people. Any time we stop abruptly in the car (usually when I'm not even driving) or I blow my nose or anything that might indicate I'm having discomfort she'll ask, "You ok, Mama!? You ok!?" She asks Audrey sometimes, too: "You ok, Auoo-da-wee?? You ok??" leaning over so she can look her in the face--usually if Audrey is sad or says ouch.
So cute.

Audrey Says
Audrey has made up a couple new words. Things can now be "scarfly" or "grumbly."
They mean pretty much anything she wants them to mean. Handy, huh?
Also, today while Dave was in the kitchen with her he accidentally dropped something . . .
D: Uh oh. (bending down to pick it up)
A: Wah, wah, wah, waaaaah (you know the sound, you hear it after a lame joke?)
We have no idea where she learned this. We couldn't think of any TV shows she could have seen it on, and none of us taught it to her. :) Uncle Brent, maybe? He did just teach her the Tiny Toones song when he and Aunt Cheryl watched them the other day (WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!).
Anyway, we laughed a lot over that one.

Branded
The permanent marker strikes again. Audrey chose to brand Janey and add some more touches to the dollhouse. Thank goodness I caught her on our video baby monitor (having a camera in the playroom AND the bedroom has been really nice) before she did any more damage. Jane is a bit conerned about her new tattoo.
Bad Day
Notice the toilet paper is coming from the bathroom AND the kitchen . . . this is but a small part of the extent of the toilet paper mess.
I can't begin to tell you how trying yesterday was. Once I cooled down I snapped a few pictures. It's amazing what two small children can accomplish in 15 minutes. I needed a nap desperately, but I paid dearly for it. I now know why they say it's so expensive to raise kids. Between the full boxes of cereal and the full rolls of toilet paper (and bottles of shampoo and tubes of lipstick and other things) that my children have wasted, not to mention the mental anguish caused by the means in which they choose to waste such products . . . it's costly.
I suppose these messes wouldn't be so bad except I'm not exactly my self right now--bending over to clean up messes like this is difficult with a belly the size of a beach ball. But it did get cleaned up. And my kids did survive the day.
(Note: The drawings were done the day before. However, as I stood before the mess, totally at a loss for what to do with myself, the drawings just added so dramatically to the scene that I had to take a picture of those too. We had actually gotten most of the other marks off the playroom, but these will need some real elbow grease. Audrey is very good at lulling me into thinking she's playing harmlessly in the playroom, when really she's somehow smuggled a dry erase (thank goodness it wasn't permanent, although I wouldn't put it past her) marker from the kitchen.)
At least no one got a bloody nose.
Dad's Snow Day!
It was only a few inches, but the city kinda shut down . . . including Dave's building. :) We were all very happy about that.
Girls 2
According to Audrey, this is Wall-E. :)
One morning Jane got into the garage sale box and picked out this magazine. She kept it by her side all day. She was fascinated. I mean, who wouldn't be?
When you gotta nap, you gotta nap.
How do you eat YOUR bagel??
One of Jane's favorite things to do is just sit on the counter and hang out with me any time I'm in the kitchen. She just sits patiently and watches me . . . and she's been known to sit for quite a while.
Oh, hey! Audrey is wearing clothes in this one! Another display.
Penelope is their best friend ever. :)
This one is a "flag."
Funny girl.
When Audrey falls in love with a certain toy, she REALLY loves it.
This particular toy is her lizard. It's the most hideous thing I've ever seen. And it cost me about 75 cents. It got left at Uncle Aaron's in Provo, and then was sent with John back to Missouri where Uncle Jake was able to get it and bring it back to it's happy owner in Texas during Christmas. She was SO happy to get that lizard back she loved it to death.
Really. She cut him up and stretched him out and pulled off his fingers and played with him in every way possible. Once the fatal cut was made, the one that made her realize that she has ruined her best friend, she was heartbroken. He is now hiding in my bedside drawer for when she might want to try to play with him again. Poor little guy.
Now her favorite toy is a stuffed chicken, which she has already colored blue with marker, and who she tried with all her little might to scrub clean, but to no avail. She decided that he's still her friend, but she doesn't want to play with a blue chicken as much as a white chicken. Her poor toys. She's like Sid from Toy Story.
At least she plays with her toys. And for the most part she loves them all a whole lot. :)
(I think my favorite part of this picture is the rolling pin that she tucked in too.)
How can you possibly take someone who looks like this back to their bed when she climbs in with you at night? Wouldn't you want to just snuggle up to her knowing that she'll snuggle up to you right back with her warm, sleepy little head nestled under your chin and her legs curled up like a newborn? It's hard for me that's for sure.
Until she starts wiggling too much. Then she gets nestled into her own little bed until morning when she'll run into my room and yell, "I'n awake, mama!!"
Girls 1
Audrey has a flair for the absurd I've noticed. That's Dave's belt around her neck ("my necklace").
I put on some old Loony Tunes cartoons for the girls to watch. From what I saw they were hilarious, some of the best I've seen . . . and yet the girls were not amused. Not even a grin. The whole time.
I think when Audrey grows out of her crazy dress-up days I'm going to make a book just of her outfits. :)
She's got a tin foil crown, in case you were wondering.
And another book for her "displays."
I'm not sure why she's crying in this picture. I read somewhere that you should have a few pictures of your kids crying, that you'd be robbing yourself if you don't capture a picture of that since they do it so much. And it's all about getting pictures of "real life," right?
I threw these tutus together from some old scraps that I had found at D.I. before we left Rexburg. I ended up making two big ones and smaller one. They were a hit. The girls are very into ballet lately since Audrey is in a ballet class.
How can you not let someone who has little piggy feet crawl into bed with you in the morning? It just must be done.
Must!
