David has been so kind as to let us use his phone for most of our pictures lately.  My camera is ready to be replaced, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.  So, that explains our limited number of pictures.  I'm sure he has many more on there right now that I'll be able to post later.  In the meantime, these are some from long ago that he had on there, probably posted on this blog at some point, but I just didn't recognize so many of them that I wanted to share.

Grandparent's Day Lunch . . . with Dad

Dave had lunch with Audrey at school this past year.  

Anything that involves spending time with Dad is very high on her list of favorite things.

Mrs. Wood

Audrey adored her kindergarten teacher this year, and with good reason.  She's the best teacher EVER.  Really, she was utterly amazing.  Here she is sporting the summer gear we got her as a teacher gift--and Audrey, I'm told, thought that this was just hysterical.  In fact, every time she sees this picture, she just about dies laughing.  

An American Ninja Warrior

Dave and I aren't the type to watch a lot of TV, and when we do, we don't watch shows like American Ninja Warrior.  In fact, I hadn't even heard of it, and I don't think David had either.  But, somehow, Dave ended up on the show (we're told he'll be on next Sunday on NBC and G4 at 8:00 central time).  

Some work friends were talking about how the try-outs were being held there in Dallas pretty close to downtown, and that they were accepting a limited number of walk-ons.  Dave's an agile guy, and he happened to not be having a particularly busy week at work, so they encouraged him to go down there and see if he could try out.  

He convinced the people in charge to let him try out by promising to do it in the tie--apparently, people doing crazy obstacle courses in business casual is good TV.  He was asked to come back the next day, but to wear the tie for sure.

As you can see, the other guys trying out seem to take this sort of thing rather seriously.  Some of them train months for this thing.  So, we were surprised (but not really) that Dave got so far through the course--he almost finished it (I think it was the second to last thing, the Tarzan ropes, that got him).  He sat in the "winners circle" for most of the day before being bumped off.  I'm thinking that since the goal was to have fun and maybe be on TV, it's safe to say that goal was met.

Jane's Birthday and some other stuff

I can't remember if I posted all of this stuff before . . .

This is when Dave put our new trampoline up in the rain.  What trooper.

Jane's birthday!!  It was all about the cake for her this year.  She requested a "rainbow birthday cake."  My big plan was to do one of those awesome rainbow cakes you see all over Pinterest, but like so many things since I've been pregnant, it didn't happen.

A few days later Claire took care of the cake.  The first picture was taken while she still thought she was being cute.  The second picture was when she realized that I was not happy with what she'd done.  Actually, she was growling at me.  She growls a lot.

Girls' Room

I finished putting the final touches (for now) on the girls' room a while ago.  These are the pictures I took that day while Audrey was at school.  Now, Claire has her own bed and the crib is back in the other room.

Easter

 There.  Proof that Easter 2012 did actually happen.  What a slacker I've been!  One day, I'm sure my children will forgive me.  What they might not forgive me for, however, is that this is the first and last time we will do Easter baskets.  Not worth it.  To make it easy on myself we didn't do an egg hunt and focused on baskets instead.  They really overshadowed the reason for the holiday and were a huge pain, not to mention completely unappreciated.  So, next year we'll stick with hunting plastic eggs, coloring boiled ones, the big Easter dinner (which did happen this year with major success), and thoughtful focus on the true meaning of the holiday.  Oh, and the Easter dresses were darling this year, don't you think?  The good thing about Costco dresses are they're so cute and also well made.  The bad thing about them is that every other girl in the ward has the exact same dress.  :)  

Since we didn't get a "family" photo as I'd planned, we made sure to snap a few of David and myself that day, also.  Besides, it was time for a pregnancy shot anyway.  Taking the picture in front of the garbage cans  might not have been the classiest choice, but we were running late.  :)
