Girls Day Out at the Galleria

I took the girls to the Galleria (the mall) about a month ago, just for an outing.  It's soooo hot here in the summer that I worry that the kids get enough exercise because they have to stay inside for most of the day.  So, either we play on the trampoline with the sprinkler spraying on it, or I take them somewhere like the play place at the Galleria.  They clean it so often, and the girls love it so much, that (despite how far it is from our house now) it's always a huge hit.  They played for a good two hours, and after a long walk around the top floor and a stop for a banana split, we headed home worn out.  Which was exactly what I was aiming for!

We met my parents in Oklahoma over Mother's Day weekend.  They had booked a little house in the woods and it was completely charming.  This is what Audrey chose to do the first night we were there.

The drive for us was only about 4 hours--but in weather like this the entire way, it was more like 6.  :S

My mom and I with the girls.  We spent one of our days just driving around and visiting little areas near the lake.  I think the biggest hit were the campground playgrounds scattered around the area.

She mostly disregarded them and just threw rocks into the water. 

There wasn't tons to do up there, but that was the beauty of it.  It was only a few short days, we had lots of yummy food to eat and time to just sit around and watch the kids play.  We entertained ourselves in simple ways--and honestly, it was an incredibly relaxing vacation for me and the kids.  (I wish I could say the same for Dave who had to do a lot of work while we were up there.)

Kindergarten Graduation

I have a few really cute pictures of her graduation, but they're in a little album her teacher gave us at the end of the year . . . and I don't have time to scan things right now.  BUT, these are the ones taken off of my camera and Dave's cell phone.  There was a lot of excitement and a lot of hugging.  :)

Modern Child

Audrey was bugging me just now in my room. so I told her to please exit.  She put her hands on her hips and said, "Mom, exit does not mean to leave, it means to turn something off."
