The Tantrum from Hell
Audrey had a tantrum today. She throws little tantrums every now and then, but NEVER like this one. I'm supposed to be at the store getting groceries this very instant, but instead I left my cart and marched her right out of the store and drove her home and put her in bed. She's not asleep of course. But I just don't know what to do with her. Never in my life have I experienced anything like this. I don't know whether it was the intensity or the duration of the fit that shocked me more. It might have been the TONS of people that stopped to watch as I dragged Audrey out of the store. Thank you to whoever the lady was that offered to carry Jane and her carseat out to my car for me. It was bad. While Audrey was flailing in my arms (as we were crossing the parking lot) she chucked her sippy cup over to a more distant part of the parking lot . . . I'm serious, folks. This was bad. I'm still in a little bit of shock. I did spank her bum before I stuck her in her carseat, but she seemed unphased. I gave her a "talking to" upon arriving at home (just as she was about settled down). Every time I tried to talk to her about what she did in the car she'd start screaming again so she couldn't even hear me. What do I do????? She's up in her room now playing. She's been up there for about an hour now. I don't think she gets it. All I know is that I'm definately NOT going to be taking her to the store with me again for a very very VERY long time.

Audrey
. . . has been very busy lately. Or at least she always seems to be busy. I often catch her up in my room rummaging through my nightstand getting into things--that seems to be her favorite place to find off-limits treasure. The other day I walked in the see her toss something away before she dove down behind my bed to hide (which she always does when I walk in and catch her). When she looked up at me to face the music she had a TON of chapstick smeared all over her face. I found the completely empty tube of it across the room where she'd chucked it. That stinker had dug it all out with her little finger. Sometimes it's cutting pieces of ribbon with my sewing scissors, sometimes it's taking all the tissue out of the box . . . so many fun things to get into in mommy's room.

Don't get excited. She's not even close to potty training time. We've tried, but she just sees some of the kids at preschool go potty (and she's even gotten to go once herself) but I'm just not sure her little body is ready yet. Anyway, I think she read every book she had on the potty this time. The toilet remained empty. Oh well.

Janey
Our little bug has been working very hard learning to crawl and sit up. She's still a little shaky, but she can definately get around now. A few things she's not trying very hard to do--eat food other than breastmilk, continue to sleep really well at night. I sure hope she sets her little mind to tackling those things soon.

She found Audrey's markers the other day while exploring the livingroom floor. Oops! She had marker on her legs and her back and everywhere from crawling over and rolling around on them too. :)

This is after big sister decided to use her for a little dress up dolly. It's so fun because she just stays right there in her bumbo . . . and she basically lets Audrey do whatever she wants to her. I think Audrey took advantage of her love and trust in this case.
As a side note, I was in the kitchen the other day when I heard Audrey get angry at something and start crying her most dramatic cry. I came in to find her crying into Janey's lap. At first I thought it was because Janey had done something to her and she was trying to bit her or something, but Audrey looked up, kicked what she had gotten angry at, and resumed lying her little head on Janey's lap to cry about it. Very cute. Aaand then of course Janey grabbed a handful of Audrey's hair and that was the end of the moment. :)

What has the Hunt family been doing?
Well, not a whole lot.
Every morning that Dave doesn't have class right away, we like to all gather in bed and cuddle. Janey likes it most of all. Audrey's pretty wiggly, but she likes it too. It's probably one of my favorite things.

Dave's been great about doing the laundry for me since it's kinda hard for me to lug it all the way over to the community center. I post this picture mostly because I like it . . .

Jane's new tricks
Jane has started saying "dadadada." It's ridiculously cute. She can just about sit up on her own. She gets on all fours and rocks and tries very hard to crawl. She should be succeeding in that any day now. She does not, however, want anything to do with baby food in any form--formula, bottles, rice cereal, baby food fruits, baby food veggies, etc. Only mommy milk. We're still fighting that one out. She's very good at spitting. :(
She's such a well-mannered baby. Very cuddly. Sleeps well at night. She does have a temper, though. She tells on Audrey whenever she takes something away from her. A couple of her favorite toys happen to be some of Audrey's favorite things--a little plastic giraffe and an orange rattle that Audrey got at the doctor's office. When Audrey snatches those things away, Janey wails her loudest and gets very red in the face. It's pretty funny actually. It's her most irrate cry. Then it stops instantly when you give the toy back to her. Then it's Audrey's turn to cry. Our house is a zoo! It's funny, though. The whole situation always makes me laugh. :)
